With a needle in hand since the age of 10, Saba Holzgrafe’s lifelong journey with sewing began under the gentle guidance of her grandmother in Iraq. From those early days making handmade clothing to now altering hundreds of wedding gowns a year, her hands have stitched stories across borders—through Syria, Turkey, and eventually, the United States.

Saba brings over 30 years of experience in alterations, tailoring, and custom garment work. After building a thriving alterations business in Vancouver, Washington, and earning a reputation as one of the region’s top tailors, she has now brought her passion and precision to the Oregon Coast.

Now based in Vancouver, WA and Tillamook, OR. Saba owns and operates Saba’s Alterations and Bridal Boutique—a unique space that combines expert tailoring with a curated selection of wedding gowns in sizes 0–28. Whether it’s an heirloom dress, a Nicole Kidman original, or a last-minute hem job, Saba approaches every project with care, craftsmanship, and respect for the garment’s story.

Her specialty? Bridal alterations. With more than 200 wedding dresses expertly tailored each year, she’s the go-to for brides who need more than just a perfect fit—they need peace of mind.

Her philosophy is simple: help people, not hustle them. Whether it’s a $5 fix or a $1,000 reconstruction, Saba welcomes every client with the same commitment to quality and honesty. If it can be saved, she’ll find a way.

It is with great pleasure for me to HIGHLY RECOMMEND Saba. After doing what two other seamstress's said were impossible, Saba performed my fiancé's preferred wedding dress alterations and absolutely saved our wedding, and for a very reasonable price to boot.

My fiancé bought a dress from David's Bridal, based on the assumption that it could be made into a long-sleeve dress. Just a few weeks before our wedding, the seamstress from David's Bridal called us and told my fiancé it would not be possible to do that alteration. My fiancé was crushed, and was upset about it for days. We took the dress to another seamstress where we live, in Klamath Falls, OR, and this seamstress also said this alteration was impossible. We were running out of hope, and my fiancé continued to be crushed, and her enthusiasm for our wedding started to run out. I decided we needed to find the best seamstress talent we could within a reasonable driving distance from Klamath Falls. I contacted Saba, drove 5 hours to meet her with the dress and my fiancé, and she expressed confidence that she could get it done, and my fiancé and I were soooo happy. A few days later, we made the trip again, and my fiancé was astonished to see that it was exactly how she wanted it. I cried like a baby watching her walk down the isle.

Saba is so nice, sweet, confident, and reasonable. She has a hilarious talking bird in her garage too lol. Don't hesitate to contact Saba, you will not regret it.

Saba, thank you
